Where are you from/where do you live.

I live in Gainesville, Florida USA and still reside here.

What is your name and where did KiraTheArtist come from.

My name is Shakira Rivers, Kira for short, Classmates call me “The artist” in school and that’s where I came up KiraTheArtist for my online name.

How long have you been drawing?

For as long as I can remember. I definitely remember in the 1st grade I was drawing parrots for my classmates .LOL

What kind of art do you?

I'm an black fantasy artist and illustrator. I create black women art and black character fantasy art.I focus on black fantasy character designs because I want to see more people that look like me in a fantasy setting. Representation matters.

What inspires you?

I get inspired by the works of other artists, nature, and people from real life and in the media. I love fantasy art.

What program/software do you draw and paint with?

I use Corel Painter, Sketchbook Pro, and Procreate. I create on my Huion Kamvas 191 GT and iPad Gen 8 with Apple Pencil 1st Gen

How did you learn to draw?

I've always known how to draw from a very early age, I just studied and learned more from other artist to get better at drawing over the years.

Did you go to art school?

Nope. I am a self taught artist.
